Athletes On and Off the Field

Athletes are no different from you and me from the exception of them being fantastic at a sport, and all these endorsements, but other than that they're normal people like us and maybe getting a little special treatment so I guess they're not like us. Athletes expanding their fame today is a pretty common thing. Going into commercials for their endorsement deals: Tiger Woods with Nike, RGIII with Subway, or even Haloti Ngata with royal farms. These athletes are getting themselves out there. Endorsements not only help out the athletes make extra money or get stuff for free, but if a kid or anyone for that matter see their favorite athletes drinking, eating, or wearing whatever, they're going to go out and buy whatever it is they have, and makes the endorser grow bigger in size.

Crime, it happens all over the world with people and athletes, but do athletes get off easier than us "regular" people? the answer is yes. Sad but true, yes Mike Vick had that whole dog scandal but what happened? served his 3 years and bam back in the NFL. Does anyone remember the Big Ben scandal with him and a young lady supposedly raping her? Tell me does anyone remember what happened to him? I certainly do not. Just the other day Seymeon Varlomov of the Colorado Avalanche (goalie) was sent to jail for 2 days for fighting his wife, he kicked her. Nothing happened and 4 days later he was released and back to his team in no time.

Are Athletes role models? Some are. Look at the Ravens, the commercials they have helping out Baltimore City is heart warming and touchy. Athletes who commit crimes are ones not too look up to. Most athletes give back to the less fortunate which is fantastic, so yes some athletes are role models. Is the celebrity aspect interfering with their lives? Answer, I wouldn't say so. They're two different groups of people and there are more scandals with celebs not with athletes.

OOOOOOOOO Kill em'!.... No Really, You are Killing Them.

As a music lover like myself, I feel like in todays world of music there are real musicians and then you have what people who make music for all the wrong reasons, and big companies create music groups for all the wrong reasons. For the most part I feel artists are marketing themselves the best they can. Using YouTube, radio, any source of internet they can.

So lets take the time and talk about music videos.... Probably some of the most sexual, and attention grabbing yet, but its just what we the people want to see. I have not seen any music with anyone actually playing an instrument or having to do with the music at all. Its pretty disheartening if I may say. It seems as if anyone today can grab a computer, make a beat, and record there self rapping, or singing whatever they want, upload it to YouTube, and within minuets or days depending on how "good" it was, could get noticed instantly without a record label, and I put quotes around the word good because it necessarily might be horrible, but with the generation today,  they want to write about god knows what, or music that isn't relatable too people and I feel all music is the same and talk about the same thing over and over again!

For myself how I discover artist, I use YouTube. I am a true rock fan, so I use YouTube because that's how small bands make it and get noticed, but they have music videos that tie within the song and its actually them playing the song. I've watched makings of music videos and for rock videos its actually a lot of work. everyone has to be on point with the song and others I feel I just see them walking around doing whatever again not even singing.

YOUTUBE IS KILLING CD SALES! If you have noticed lately they have a mp3 download now that people can get the songs for free. Bands need Cd sales for better tours. Better tours is how you get noticed. Youtube, yes is helpful in some ways but also makes every artist look like they don't know what theyre doing, or they are just doing it for the money and not the love.
